"Someone" in Turkish

Learn how to use the word "Biri (Someone)" in Turkish. For example: Biri seninle konuşmak istiyor. Someone wants to talk to you. The word "Biri" is also used as "One of them" in Turkish. For example:Arkadaşlarımdan biri Türkçe biliyor. One of my friends knows Turkish. The word "Biri" takes suffixes (THE, definite object, TO, direction, AT, location, FROM etc) when it is used as the object of the sentence. For example:

• Biri seninle konuşmak istiyor. Someone wants to talk to you.
• Ben birini seviyorum. I love ("the) in Turkish) someone (specific to the speaker).
• Ben birine baktım. I looked at ("to" in Turkish) someone.
• Ben birinde kaldım. I stayed at someone (at someone's place).
• Ben biriyle dans ettim. I danced with someone.

"Something" in Turkish

• Bir şey var. There is something.
• Bir şey oluyor. Something oluyor.

The word "Bir şey" takes suffixes (THE, definite object, TO, direction, AT, location, FROM etc) when it is used as the object of the sentence. For example:

• Ben bunu bir şeyden çıkardım. I took this out of ("from" in Turkish) something.

"Somewhere" in Turkish

The word "Bir yer (one place, somewhere" usually used as the object (place) of the sentence and takes suffixes (THE, definite object, TO, direction, AT, location, FROM etc). For example:

• Ben bir yer biliyorum. I know somewhere.
• Ben bir yere gidiyorum. I am going (to) somewhere.
• Ben bir yerde kaldım. I stayed (at) somewhere.
• Ben bir yerden geliyorum. I am coming from somewhere.
