"Can" in Turkish Language

"Can" in Turkish language
The suffix used for "Can" (General Ability) in Turkish is "- ( y ) ebilir / abilir" (depending on the last vowel). For example:
- O yüzebilir. He can swim.
- O koşabilir. He can run.
- O tenis oynayabilir. He can play tennis.
If the last letter of the verb root is a vowel, then add the suffix (buffer) "-y-" to the verb. For example:
- O tenis oynayabilir. He can play tennis.
- O İngilizce kitap okuyabilir. He can read English books.

- Ben yapabilirim. I can do.
- Sen yapabilirsin. You can do.
- O yapabilir. He / She can do.

"Can you?" in Turkish
The word "Mi" makes yes / no questions in Turkish. Simply add this word to the end of the sentence. For example:
- O yüzebilir. O yüzebilir mi? Can he swim?
- O koşabilir. O koşabilir mi?. Can he run?
- O tenis oynayabilir. O tenis oynayabilir mi? Can he play tennis?

- Sen yapabilir misin? Can you do?

The negative form is completely different than the positive form. The suffix for "Can Not" is "- (y) emez / amaz". For example:

- O koşamaz. He can't run.
